Rivermead Islands is a family-owned, independent and purpose-built student community. They provide beautiful purpose built student apartments, offering luxury student living right next to Anglia Ruskin University’s Chelmsford campus in Essex.
Split over two islands, Rivermead Islands has redeveloped an old industrial area to compliment the contemporary university buildings and surrounding natural environment with DAP Architecture Ltd.
Elfin Kitchens were appointed to design and deliver 54 kitchen sets to cater for the 300 individual ensuite bedrooms at The Lofts & Pointview apartment blocks.
Tom McCain and Neill Andrew from Elfin worked with the team to create a minimalistic bank of kitchen units that were fit-for-purpose with clean lines, ample storage and full size ovens for ease of use.
Tom and Neill proposed a bespoke design made up of two of the 1800mm Premium range kitchens in slate grey, with brushed stainless steel work tops for durability, four zone induction hobs (easy clean) and a large sink.
Electric, height adjustable work tops were also added to two of the kitchens to improve accessibility for all students.
All of the kitchens were delivered prebuilt – with a full kitchen set delivered per pallet, ready for plug and play installation…nice and easy!
